Culemborg alive and kicking! Culemborg is a modern, lively town with an old inner city with a rich heritage. Beautifully situated on the river Lek (further on called
Rhine). This town in the
province of
Gelderland has well over 27,000 inhabitants on an area of 31 km2.
The town gives me a feeling of space; literally because there are a lot of green areas within the city limits and also there is a large agricultural area out of town. Figuratively because this community has many possibilities in the field of education, theatre, sports, etc. At regular intervals there are major events in town. At the end of May there is a classic car rally; every second Sunday in July “Culemborg Bijvoorbeeld” is being organised, a major cultural event which draws about 50,000 visitors. In the month of August it is blues time with Culemborg Blues; and once every two years Lek Art is organised. In short Culemborg is a town which is alive and kicking with all sorts of events, definitely worthwhile your visit!
I truly hope that you will have become enthusiastic and that you will visit our town. From this place I would like to bid you a hearty welcome!
